Introducing MailTracker, our free and simple email tracking extension for Gmail
At Hunter, we strive to build simple and powerful tools for our users. Over the last few weeks, we’ve been working on a new tool: an unobtrusive, simple and beautiful email tracker for Gmail (and soon Inbox).
There are already solutions out there to enhance the standard Gmail experience. But those tools often become bloated or too expensive for casual needs. This is why we’re introducing MailTracker. MailTracker integrates directly with Gmail via a Chrome extension. You can install it with a single click on our website.
MailTracker in action
When sending a message you can enable or disable tracking:
You can check out the status of your emails in the conversation view of Gmail. A green icon indicates your email has been read:
By opening up the conversion, you’ll have full access to the activity:
On https://mailtracker.hunter.io, you get a recap of the messages tracked:
We built the extension with these values in mind:
- Unobtrusive: We were looking for a simple mail tracker for ourselves. We don’t want to have a CRM in Gmail. They’re some great options for advanced use-cases but most people only want a simple mail tracking that works and doesn’t get in their way.
- Free: We want to reach the maximum number of users. A straightforward and free product is the best way to achieve this. And because we’ve learned to handle hundreds of millions of requests with a small team in the past, we feel confident we’ll have the skills to maintain MailTracker.
- Beautiful: Attaining a beautiful design requires both a good understanding of the user and multiple iterations. We’re not there yet, but we keep that goal in mind as our user base expands.
We’ve built this new extension to help our users be more productive every day. If you feel we can do that even better, get in touch with us!
